31 August is Malaysian independence day or as we malaysians call it Merdeka day. The British granted Malaysia (during 1957 was known as Malaya) independence. This year, we celebrated our young but growing country's 52nd Independence day. Sadly most of us have forgotten how much effort our Tunku Abdul Rahman (The first prime minister of Malaysia) fought for our indepence back then.
